Andrew K. Mittag

Senior Vice President, Agrium and President, Agrium Advanced Technologies

Andrew joined Agrium in 2005 as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategy. In 2009 he was appointed Senior Vice President, Agrium and President of Agrium Advanced Technologies (AAT) Strategic Business Unit.

Andrew has over 25 years experience in business and strategy development and investment and commercial banking. Prior to joining Agrium, he co-founded Rockland Capital Partners and was their President and CFO. Before that he was a Senior Vice President at Koch Industries and TXU. He currently sits on the Board of Hanfeng Evergreen, a specialty fertilizer business with operations in China.

Karen Cowley

Karen began her career with Agrium in 2005 as a senior Human Resources professional initially supporting the Carseland Nitrogen Operations and then supporting the Wholesale Business Unit Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, HR & Business Development groups based in Calgary with oversight for HR and Facilities in the Denver office. In 2010, she was appointed Director of Human Resources Agrium Advanced Technologies (AAT) Strategic Business Unit.

Karen has over 20 years of diversified Human Resources experience and has worked in a variety of HR Generalist and Organizational Development roles, primarily in the energy sector in Alberta and manufacturing sector in Ontario & Nova Scotia. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Dalhousie, Halifax Nova Scotia.

Michael Cutter

Managing Director, International

Michael comes to Agrium Advanced Technologies with over 20 years of unique experience in international business development, merger and acquisitions and corporate business management. Most recently, Michael has provided executive management guidance and support to companies in the United States wishing to expand internationally and companies outside the United States whose business efforts have faltered in successfully entering the United States. Recent successes include a turnaround for the largest tile distributor in Great Britain, designing and launching a Frozen Pastry subsidiary for a Swiss bakery, designing then orchestrating the plan for converting a chain of Yugoslavian state-owned grocery stores into an entrepreneurial standalone chain and designing and implementing a complete overhaul of the merchandising and procurement function at a large non food distributor in the United States, including renegotiation and realignment of their Chinese Suppliers.

Prior to these roles, Michael worked for 7-Eleven Stores as Senior Vice President, Merchandising, reporting directly to the President, he played a key and pivotal role in the expansion of merchandising, operations and global growth, and was instrumental in the 16 consecutive quarters of positive gross profit dollar growth.

Michael has served on executive management boards of Hiestand, USA, Bellegrove Ceramics and the Southland Corporation (7-Eleven Food Stores; and he is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). Additionally, his not-for-profit roles include Hill School of Fort Worth, Girl Scouts, University Camps for Underprivileged and Diabetic Children at UCLA, and the United States Olympic Velodrome in Dominguez Hills, California. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA, where he was recognized for outstanding service.

Jim Findlater

Legal Counsel

Jim Findlater, a member of the Agrium Inc. Legal Department, joined Agrium Advanced Technologies in 2010 as Legal Counsel. He has over 20 years' experience in business operations legal support, corporate, international and transactional tax planning, contract drafting and negotiation, transactional practice, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, licensing and intellectual property, financing, litigation management, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and general business matters.

Jim's experience includes legal positions in both corporate, national law firm, and consulting firm settings. Prior to joining Agrium, Jim served as Corporate Counsel at United Agri Products, Inc., and as Associate Counsel in the Denver office of Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP, and the Seattle office of Bogle & Gates. Jim's earlier career includes practicing as a Tax Attorney/CPA with ToucheRoss and Price Waterhouse, national accounting firms, and as an owner/ operator of a privately held business.

Jim has an LL.M. in Taxation from the New York University School of Law, and J.D. and Bachelor of Science degrees (Business - Accounting Major) from the University of Colorado. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (Inactive, Colorado).

John Leal

Vice President, Finance

John Leal joined Agrium Advanced Technologies in 2009 as Vice President of Finance. He has over 20 years experience in strategy development and execution, including acquisitions and divestitures, financial management, corporate finance, and financial reporting (SEC).

John's experience includes leadership positions at multinational entities including TXU Corporation where he served as Director, Corporate Strategy and Development, Koch Industries as Vice President, Corporate Finance, El Paso Energy in the capacity of Manager, International Finance and Analysis and Price Waterhouse LLP as a Manager in their Corporate Finance Group. Most recently, John has been working as a consultant, advising large multinational organizations and mid-sized entities in the areas of strategy, financial management, and technical accounting and reporting.

John is a Certified Public Accountant and received a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston.

Jeff Novak

Vice President Wholesale, Sales and Marketing

As Vice President, Marketing and Innovation, Jeff oversees Marketing and Agronomy, as well as Communications, Product Innovation and Regulatory Affairs. Jeff originally joined Agrium Advanced Technologies (AAT) as Director, Marketing through the United Agri Products (UAP) acquisition in 2008.

Throughout his over 20 years experience in the business, Jeff has held numerous roles including Northern Plains General Manager, National Accounts Director and LPI Sales Director all with UAP. Prior to joining UAP, Jeff was the District Sales Manager for BASF Ag Products. He also served as a Product Manager for several years for both BASF and Sandoz Agro and as a Marketing Communications Specialist and Sales Representative for Sandoz.

Jeff holds a Bachelors degree in Agricultural Economics from North Dakota State University.

Mike Collins

Vice President, Operations

Mike will be responsible for managing the Operations division. Mike brings a wealth of domestic and international plant operations experience working within a Lean Six Sigma environment and has successfully implemented business strategies in safety, quality, service and cost management. For the past 5 years, Mike was Director, Manufacturing and Paint Services at Valspar Corporation. Previous to this, he worked at Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials, LLC as Product Development/Technical Services Manager. Mike is a Chemical Engineering graduate from Tri-State University, Angola, Indiana and received his MBA from the University of Delaware.

Sheldon Witte

Vice President, Strategy and Innovation

Sheldon joined Agrium Advanced Technologies (AAT) as Vice President, Canadian Professional Business in 2006. He has 30 years experience in fertilizer, pest control products and other similar product lines for agriculture, consumer and turf markets. Sheldon was most recently with Spectrum Brands (Nu-Gro) as the Vice President of the Canadian Professional Business and Operations.

Prior to working for Spectrum Brands, he was Marketing Director for Growmark out of Bloomington, IL. His other previous experience includes various agricultural roles with United Co-operatives of Ontario.

Sheldon graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in Animal Science and a minor in Agricultural Business.
