POLYON
How POLYON Works:
Understanding polymer coating technology

POLYON Controlled-Release Fertilizers encapsulate nutrients, within a patented, polyurethane membrane that feeds the root zone gradually and consistently for months at a time. The secret is our patented "Reactive Layers Coating™" that meters out nutrients via temperature-controlled diffusion, and is not affected by moisture.

POLYON Granule

POLYON works through temperature-controlled diffusion.
This means Nitrogen is released gradually throughout the plant's growth cycle, resulting in precise, predictable feeding that lasts for months. The key to the consistent, gradual release of POLYON fertilizer is all in the exclusive, polymer membrane that coats each granule. Only temperature influences the release rate so you don't have to worry about microbial activity or excessive moisture.

POLYON Graph
Week One: Moisture Absorption
Within a week of application, the polymer coating allows soil moisture in, which activates encapsulated nutrients but doesn't release them.
Months of Product Longevity: Nutrient Diffusion
Over the next several months, the membrane slowly releases dissolved nutrients through diffusion, only when triggered by soil temperature.
After Complete Release: Polymer Decomposition
After complete release of nutrients, the polymer coating microbially decomposes into naturally occurring soil elements.

In addition to its consistent, predictable, long-lasting release, POLYON gives you the assurance of quality, because every batch is carefully blended and thoroughly tested. You also get the complete field and technical support of Agrium Advanced Technologies-it's another way we help make your job easier.
